Acunol®

Pharmacological class: Homeopathic drug. NDC# 61480-137-05

Acunol® is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris, acne rosacea, peri-oral dermatitis and folliculitis. It has been found to work well with a variety of combination therapies (see Efficacy Section).

Description: Acunol® is a biochemical homeopathic medication for the treatment of acne. The active ingredients in each Acunol® 600 mg tablet consist of the following:

  • Potassium Bromide (Kali Bromatum 1X)
  • Sodium Bromide (Natrum Bromatum 1X)
  • Zinc Sulphate (Zincum Sulphuricum 1X)
  • Sulphur 1X; Nickel Sulphate (Niccolum Sulphuricum 1X)
Inactive ingredients: Lactose, Magnesium Stearate, Copper (ll) Oxide These drug ingredients are listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS).

Acunol® demonstrates significant improvement in at least 4 weeks with or without the use of oral antibiotics.

A total of 76 patients with acne vulgaris and/or rosacea were studied in an open-label retrospective, cohort study examining the efficacy of Acunol® when used alone or in combination with other oral or topical therapies over a significant course of treatment. Acne Vulgaris, n=66 (94%) Rosacea, n=4 (6%).

Lower daily doses of oral antibiotics and lower cumulative doses were successfully used when combined with Acunol® oral therapy.
